Headline Details: MR and MRS SAT are a microsatellite pair. In the mated configuration, the dimensions of the satellites are approximately 50 x 49.5 x 53.5 cm with a combined mass of 48.8 kg. The antenna is mounted at a 45 degree angle on the top plate of MR SAT. Internal components of the satellite include secondary batteries, an EPS, a flight computer motherboard, and an R-134a commercial propulsion tank. There is one Gomspace AX100U radio. Solar cells cover the exterior of the satellite. The satellite is stabilized using a set of three magnetic torque coils. The primary objective of the MR and MRS SAT mission is to perform close proximity operations using a stereoscopic imaging system with a cold-gas propulsion system. MR SAT, the inspector satellite, will perform proximity operations about MRS SAT, a non-cooperative resident space object (nRSO). The stereoscopic imaging sensor (SI) will provide focal plane angles from images taken of the nRSO to the GNC system of MR SAT. MR SAT will then use those angle data to maintain an approximate 10 meter trailing formation, and will then perform a circumnavigation of MRS SAT. Images taken during the mission modes will be downlinked to create a 3-D reconstruction of the nRSO. Proposing a UHF 9k9 GMSK downlink and planning a deployment from the ISS in H2 2019.
